Billing and Insurance Information for Medical Massage Services at RAP Manual Therapy
Insurance and Billing Information
Welcome to RAP Manual Therapy, where your well-being is our top priority. We understand the importance of clarity regarding insurance coverage and billing procedures for our medical massage therapy services. Below, you’ll find comprehensive information to guide you through our process.
Insurance Coverage
RAP Manual Therapy accepts health insurance plans from Regence/Anthem and most auto injury and workman’s comp claims to billing for medical massage therapy services. If you’re unsure about your insurance coverage, we recommend reaching out to the member services phone number located on the back of your insurance card. They will be able to provide details about your massage benefits and how to access them in case a prescription or pre-authorization is needed. While we offer the service of verifying your coverage, it’s important to note that insurance information can occasionally be inaccurate. Insurance companies may provide incorrect or outdated details, leading to misunderstandings about coverage, and resulting in an unwanted balance. Please take the time to review your insurance coverage thoroughly, contact your insurance provider for clarification, and make decisions based on accurate information.
It’s also important to note that some insurance plans may not reimburse services offered by Licensed Massage Therapists. Before booking your appointment, please verify with your insurance provider that they cover sessions with a Licensed Massage Therapist.
New Clients and Insurance Payments
For new clients who intend to use their insurance plan for payment, we kindly ask that you verify your coverage with us before scheduling your appointment. Suppose your coverage is not confirmed before your appointment. In that case, you may be held liable for the total billed amount on the date of service. Feel free to contact us with your insurance information so we can assist you in the process. Please be prepared to provide copies of your insurance ID cards during your initial session for verification purposes.
Third-Party Liability Claims (Motor Vehicle Accidents & Worker’s Comp)
For third-party liability claims, we generally need an ID, claim number, and the name and contact phone number of your claims adjuster for further information. A prescription for medical massage therapy from your doctor, indicating the number of visits and frequency, will also be needed.
If you’re seeking massage therapy due to auto injuries, we have to confirm the availability of your Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits prior to your appointment.
For Worker’s Comp claims, we may need more time for the verification process, as their claim departments sometimes require pre-authorizations or would like to review the prescription first.
Session Duration and Billing: Please note that we cannot bill insurance for sessions that exceed 60 minutes. However, if you prefer an extended session, you can pay for the additional time out of pocket.
Billing Information
Our billing for massage therapy services follows the CPT codes 97124 or 97140, billed in 15-minute increments. Prices on our website apply exclusively to payments made on the day of service. Alternatively, you can pay upfront and receive a receipt for reimbursement submission to your insurance company.
