Medical Massage

Medical Massage

Medical Massage is a version of soft tissue manipulation (Manual Therapy) that is outcome based rather than general relaxation based.  Typically employed as part of a comprehensive care plan, your Primary Care Physician, Chiropractor, or Doctor of Physical Therapy can refer you for Medical Massage to address symptoms resulting from car accidents, work related injuries, or chronic pain conditions.

Medical Massage rarely follows the Full Body treatment approach of Wellness Care or Relaxation oriented massage treatments. Rather, it is targeted to the specific area where symptoms are located and to related areas with the intention of providing symptom relief and to assist in shortening recovery time. If you have a prescription for Massage Therapy, this is the type of massage you would be receiving, though anyone is able to schedule a Medical Massage session when paying out of pocket as well. Simply inform your practitioner of your needs and we will be delighted to accommodate.

We provide insurance covered Medical Massage services to clients and patients with a prescription from a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA), Workers’ Compensation Claim and to members of BCBS – Blue Cross Blue Shield.
